Would it, this is the freakin FUTURE!
I think the problem with making synthetic food that tastes like real food is that food is not just a uniform collection of chemicals. It's a mixture, and it's difficult to replicate the texture and taste of a mixture with chemistry alone. The reactions that are used to form the compounds that exist in food would probably not taste right - they might lack a subtle but important trace element, or there might be a bad taste from one of the reagents used. After all, no matter how many times you filter something you can never really obtain a pure chemical. The human tongue is pretty sensitive to certain things, so it might be inevitable that artificial food would taste like garbage. Especially alcohol, which has a million little subtleties to it that make the difference between swill and fine drink.
And let's not forget that Shadowrun is dystopian. The background states pretty frequently that artificial food tastes ok, but not as good as real food. I just can't imagine that beer created inside a person's body would even be as good as artificial food created in a factory. You'd have to do everything the factory does to achieve the same taste, only in a miniaturized form that doesn't take too much energy, is non-toxic, and doesn't acquire any extra ingredients.
Now, for more simple products it would be easy. People can already make milk, altering that into some kind of exotic beverage would be a cinch
