I have indeed played with a hacker adept.  It was pretty cool, until the errata amended the improved ability power.  As per the change, improved ability modifies your skill rating.  In the original printing, it added bonus dice to your rating.  The difference is that modified ratings cannot exceet 1.5 x your natural skill.  Hence, if you have a skill of 4, you can only have improved ability in that skill at 2.  Bonus dice, on the other hand, have no limit, so you don't need to worry about maximums when adding things like specializations.

Which, incidentally, is my first criticism of your sheet!  Get some specializations!  If you drop your improved ability powers to 2, as the rules require, adding a specialization will boost you back up to 8 dice.  Though when making a hacking-focused char, I might want to bump that up even higher.  A top of the line system with system 6 and firewall 6 will be able to kick your ass unless you can match its dice, especially with an edge of just 3.

Also, you should seriously consider taking combat sense instead of improved reflexes.  Improved reflexes at 1 will not make you into much of a combat monster, especially since your biggest gun is a pistol.  A hacker's adept's combat abilities should be primarily defensive, and combat sense is the ultimate defensive power.  It makes you harder to surprise and helps you dodge attacks, and since it adds bonus dice it's only limited by your magic rating.  Combine it with improved ability (dodge) and dodge (ranged) specialization and you'll be one crazy bullet dodging fool!  Which is important, because if you get shot it's gonna hurt, and pretty much ruin your ability to function as a hacker for the rest of that scene too.

I've made hacker adepts before, and I'd suggest investigating whether you can squeeze in a Synaptic Booster 2 or not. It's a difficult task, I realize, due to cash restraints (and maybe even BP restraints--Elves are pricey, I made mine a sub-maximum attribute ork...) but it'd give you some extra dodgey goodness and lets you avoid a lot of physical damage entirely by using AR and your meat initiative passes. The silver lining in this approach is that your extra adept powers help you get away with using the occasional rating 3 program until you can afford to design/purchase some really nasty toys. It's not as expensive as you'd think either-- after all, it's not like every hacker needs both black hammer AND blackout at rating 5, after all, since they serve much the same purpose.

Ya know, in retrospect, I should probably mention I just make EVERYTHING orks these days.

Here's an example sheet I just whipped up that's fairly representative of my old hacker adept. Oddly enough, logic just isn't that terribly important for hackers these days. Go figure. It's just too bad that this char couldn't talk himself out of well, anything. Of course, that particular gaping wound can be patched up a bit by swapping out Combat Sense for Kinesics, but I wouldn't suggest it. I find that it's generally easier to let the Face scramble and cover up your occasional faux pas than it is to survive actually getting hit by automatic gunfire.

I was going to mention the same complaint that Tear did, as I was the one who brought it up to her when the errata first came out.  However, since she beat me to it, and Whipstitch stole my Synaptic Booster 2 recommendation, I'm going to make my own recommendation that's completely different.

For entirely system reasons, you should drop being an elf.  With your current skills you aren't utilizing the charisma bonuses, and an adept hacker really doesn't utilize charisma anyhow.  As for the agility bonus of 1 it isn't worth the 30 points to be an elf.  Be a human, if you want the elfyness, be an elf poser and reap some negative quality bonuses.  That way you can still RP as an elf, but you aren't an elf, and gain an extra Edge die for FREE!! Woot... I love edge, as you may notice from my Zoe character of 8 edgey goodness, and my inability to really make a character with less than 4 or 5 Edge (except maybe my tank, which I don't remember what she has right now and its not important cause she's scary enough as is).

If you really really really really must be an elf, than pull some strings and get Influence Group at 1, so at least you are utilizing the elf and it isn't just a waste of points for some pointy ears.  And from the looks of it, you seem to have 10 more negative quality points you can take and still be awesome possum as far as the rules go.  Those 10 points is one Group skill at 1.

My other complaint is with Whipstitch's comment.  I think if I can make a social-hacking-rigger adept just fine, with a maxxed out commlink and about 12 drones, then you should very easily be able to make an adept with no problems getting a synaptic booster 2.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that it's easy. It's just that I try to be polite about something-- Namely that elves really, really REALLY suck and like to kick any attempts at competence right in the balls. Well, unless you're a Face or something. But yeah, it's not hard at all to afford. Although, the damned thing's like 32 freakin' points. It's awesome, sure, but hell, it'd better be.

Anway, god it feels good to finally just repeatedly say elves suck. Orks are the true master race now. It's really quite obvious.

EDIT: Yeah, humans are good too. I just like having well rounded stats so people don't get too pissy about me having my strength score at 1 or something. You know, as if strength was good for anything that can't easily be rectified with a monowhip or synthacardium.

Let me put it more eloquently.  Orks are the best punchy kicky race.  Elves are the best sucky sucky race.

Your tank is the most special of special cases that I've seen in a very long time though. It scares me a little. And the only useful mundane skill it has available is defaulting social skills at 6. Otherwise, it's like "hey, mind doing something useful?". And the tank's all like, "No, I'm sorry, I'm too busy being nigh invulnerable."  Smiley

Orks are not as conducive to Fuxing.

I have seen some attractive looking ork female pics(just look at the Gunslinger Adept..the chun-li looking ork, and the nano-fax illustration in Augmentation)...but I have YET to see a picture that I would call an 'attractive' female Troll...come to think of it, there has only ever been, to my knowledge, one picture of a female troll(I THINK it was a female, at least...not really easy to tell with a rat shaman)...so, no...it is Trolls are not conducive to Fuxing...though, ironicly, there is some mention in Augmentations about special adaptations for trolls...

Tir Na Nog has a reasonably decent picture of a troll.
