What can we do? I mean, I've desc'd games. I've coded silly little things like doors and what-not. Like theaters that the theater troupe can pose, and the seats see it, but anyone on stage can't see the poses of the people in the audience so that they can pose their play uninterrupted. I'm not the best, but I'm by far the worst.

What can we do as players to help expedite the game getting toward soft rp at the very least, if not something greater thereafter?

I just think instead of all the times we pose about why isn't it done yet after a year, we can pose something constructive like what can we contribute to make the new year the New Seattle year?

First things first, the best thing to do, is keep conncting to the grid.  Even if everyone is idle, idle as well.  If your looking for rp, let people know you are with an @doing.

I've tried some things to generate rp so that as which to attract a staffer.

My character Dejison, has an acoustic guitar, so I randomly go to places IC on the map and just stand around, waiting to pose street performance emits.  I also come up with really random ways to interact with other pc's, for example, one time I met up with someone at Juans pizzaria, pretending to try and use the wrong coupon ((completely different place issued the coupon))  when i noticed someone was hanging out there using +where.     I figure, as long as we keep it simple and don't make up lead-ins to plot, we can throw together a scene before someone takes it by the reins.  Maybe you challange people to a drinking contest, or, read aloud to homeless people on a block where someone is idling.  We can do it, and then when 4 is coded and done, well, we'll have plenty of people to sift through on the grid.  We can keep sr3 alive, however, I've met with Impunity and he's trying toget some chaos rolling.  We just need people to connect.  I think thats the overall answer.

I'm sorry, Bennie. The grid is complete. Everything that requires descing and building has been done for about a year now. It's just the code we're waiting for.

But... if you really want to help, there's a thread here somewhere asking for sample PC descs. We could use sample bgs, especially short one-pagers. And then there's the twink sheet thread. Things like that will help newer people figure out what they need to do to get IC.

What's our chances of uncoded soft rp..? We can at least be sitting there in the bars and stuff getting the ambiance and mood of New Seattle.? Smiley  Roll Eyes  Grin  Wink  Kiss

Chances are nil, I'm afraid. We don't have code that allows you to make a PC object.

Like I said... we need coooode.

They are stuck with the Chargen - which I very much understand out of own experience - chargen is a pain (tm) it's honestly the most booring, annoying and terrible part of doing a mush.

My pitty there (and this isn't ironic)

to another related topic:

Out of curiosity,
I read about the plans for an online chargen. This sounds quite interesting to me. If I could stomp something like that out of the ground for SR4 would it be a wast of time or would someone be bored enough to toss a look at it?

Licenser, send an @mail to me and Melkir on Old Seattle. We'll take a look.

I've noticed that Heavy Gear MUX has a nice web-based chargen. Any chance of getting something like that?

Is part of what needs to be coded into CGen anything to do with just putting words into attributes of code for the code to draw from? Because if it's things like lists of skills, or spells, or weapons, or items, or powers we're looking at, I'm more than willing to help by doing lists. I'm a great typer! Smiley

Noor, will do will do. So first I make a little 'demo' and test out if the ideas I have are working out Wink

Nope. We already have a complete and updated database of all gear, spells, skills, attributes, cyber, bio, etc. from both Street Magic and SR4. We're literally just waiting on code.
