Why do things like horseradish make your eyes water?

Perhaps deep down inside your psyche you are associating the horseradish with someone or something you love, and simply the thought of destroying that person or thing evokes a subsconcious tearring of the eyes and feeling of remorse?? I feel pretty confident that this holds true for all humans, and not just for horseradish, but also for onions, but I could be slightly off the mark.??All I know is from my obersvations, whenever I ask someone who loves me why the are crying while they are handling the onions, they usually lash out, point the knife at me, and ask something to the effect of:? "Keep asking, and I will make you cry too!"? This is clearly only anecdotal evidence, but it is the best I have been able to come up with after 20+ years of research on this intriguing mystery.

Jaymes onions contains a surtain substance that is releast when people make cuts into the onion.
That substance reacts with water, for instance if you cut onions after you have showerd or have a moist towel around your neck.
You will have less problem with tears in your eyes while cuting onions.

As for Absinthe's question i honestly don't know.

I laugh at science! Hahahahahahah! See, I just did.

As for the questions in this forum, I've only one thing to say.  The reason why all these things make your eyes water, is because of a conspiracy by pie against cookies, and we who cherish donuts can not stand for it any longer!  We officially ally ourselves with cookies, because they too can be hand eaten in usually one or two bites.  Good luck getting pies to do that!  Gah, so much pie, so little time, eat my minions... EAT!

That's it, confectionary crumbs.  Band together in your bite sized hovels, aspire to fill the tummies of those who hunger.  All your efforts are for naught.  For while your sweetness is glomped and gone in a heartbeat and forgotten, the glory of pie prevails, feeding three, four, even leaving enough to defend the fridge from late night munchies.  Your armies of tiny baked goods cower before the juggernaught of the pumpkin, the apple, the banana creme.  Your yumminess is as a shadow upon stone, faint, fleeting, gone with the shifting of the sun.  Pie makes it marks on the pages and tummies of history.  Pie is remembered, in the minds and on the thighs.  Pie prevails.

I'd rather have one of EA's scrumptious cupcakes.

Let's keep this short:

I agree with Nevermore.

That is all.  Pie pie.

Pie makes the mouth water, not the eyes.
