Well, you might see a Lonestar sec-drone in a Z-zone.  That's the cue for anyone sane and not bleeding to death on the spot to run.

Because a Lonestar tank is probably just about to chug around the corner.

And its probably about to rain LMG/MMG/HMG/Assault Cannon/Grenade Launcher fire down upon you...

But the general point is, IF Lone Star shows up in a Z-zone at all, expect them to do it with extreme overkill on their minds.

Oh as I said you -might- go your entire life in a z zone without ever seeing an LS drone. But yeah even the star occasionally goes into such places when it's made worth their while to do so. And then expect at least their immediate area to probably be saturated with recon and attack drones.

Cool wireless things to do:

GITS things by doing the whole conversation inside your head dealy if you've got your comlink DNI'd, including an avatar that could or could not represent your actual self. I'd envision like, being able to switch. Your in your street clothes as a normal avatar for convos with friends, your in a suit for professional convos, and your a Ghoulish pile of black icor on certain other places. In short though, you can have an image of the person your talking to without a video phone.

The use of avatar's for virtual identifications purposes. ID cards, if any, might include an avatar representing the actual person that could be read and manipulated. Online dossiars might have the character and several cosmetic variations that he or she might have, etc.

Adding electronics integrally to various other things is neat too. Several examples I can think of is like, adding an olfactory sensor and image link to your gas mask to test the air, and report back to you its quality, a biomonitor in a Camo Full Suit or Armor Jacket, to keep you appraised of your health.

The fact that /everyone/ can, and most likley will, have the ability to record sounds and sights with cybereyes and ears.

More things as events warrent.

My team had all our commlinks connected so that any hostile that any of us could see would be outlined on all of our image links.  Then we dumped video from our smartlinks and/or cybereyes directly to storage for full backup of a run from all angles - pretty easy to show the Johnson that the job's done by zapping him a few seconds of video from multiple feeds. Call up friends or contacts on the fly, even while talking to someone else, or on the run.

It took some readjustment to thinking from the SR3 rules, but after we got some practice with it, it was fun Smiley

And for those worried about essence costs, I was a mage with image link, smart link, and vision mag in my contact lenses, and thermo vision and visual enhancement in the sunglasses I wore over them.  And smart earbuds and a subvocal throat mike.  So I could do everything my wired friends could do (though sometimes a bit slower), without having any bodily intrusions at all.
