First off:  For those of you who don't know, I am a heavy mortarman (I use the 120mm and 81mm mortar systems) assigned to a line platoon (using the 60mm system).  I used to be Psychological Operations years ago and before that a mortarman at another unit.

Anyhow...  I love mortars.  I have never appreciated mortar systems as I do now until this (my third) deployment.  They are bad ass.  They are fun.  They are spectacular.

Update:  I'm doing well over here, just got promoted.  It was a long time coming.  Now I have the rank to match the position I've been holding for the past almost 2 years.  I've been in only a few firefights (comparatively), but the guys that are under me and the platoon we are attached to have seen several.  There was a period in May where we had more Significant Actions in our area than days we had spent in the month.  Until the 10th, we had double the SigActs as we had days in May.

We've suffered a few casualties where I am at and only 1 death.  We count ourselves lucky on that aspect considering the number of firefights and indirect attacks we've been through since moving down here.

Well, time to get off of here and hit the sack.  I hope you guys are having fun and I hope to see you all around come next February (or a time when I have normal interwebs in my room or you guys put up a link on mudconnect.com so I can connect through their flash client).

Well, since no one else said it: thank you for not dying! Stay safe. This place should still be around come February Smiley

Can we also try and get on MudConnect?  I'll look to see if that's easy, or not.  Don't die, we need players!

I doubt I'll be keeling over any time soon, but I'll be sure to keep my head down.

Speaking of needing players, has anyone posted up on Facebook's Shadowrun fansite about the game?  Might pull in a few players.

Also, I don't think it's that hard to get up on MudConnect.  They have some staffers that'll go through, check out the links and whatnot that is provided, then post it up.  Seattle was on Mudconnect waaay back when, during the chaotic days of Yahoo.com and Excite.com (anyone remember that search engine?).

We still haven't solved the new accounts issue, Without being able to make a new account here on the forum...sort of makes it pretty difficult to make a player bit.

[EDIT: The issue has been resolved. New accounts are available again.]

PSYOP, bah. CA FTW.

Glad to hear you're doing okay though. You should totally rig some rounds to drop leaflets.

Make them drop SR4 core rulebooks!  The Taliban are clearly cranky because they don't have enough Vitamin SR4 in their systems!
