I'm looking at the venom power in the SURGE qualities.  It allows for any naturally occurring animal venom to be replicated.  Well, the rules on animal venom is basically choose from one of these 2 options in the books, OR I could try and use what I want to use for the character.

I'd like to be able to use Gamma-Scopolamine.  Well, it wouldn't be that specifically as that's a plant toxin, but use the same rules.  Plenty of animals have a paralytic poison they excrete so I figured it'd be okay.  But since there are very limited rules in this regard it's hard for me to judge alone.  I might simply skip this quality if it's too difficult to work something out.

What say you?

Unless you are part plant, it would have to be something from an animal. I don't have Augmentation yet but the books I have are clear that it has to be a naturally occuring animal toxin. What does Aug say?

The only paralytics that strong that I can think of are plant based.  Such as curare.  That's the only other one I know about, really.  Surely there are paralytic snake and spider venoms, but do they work exactly like gamma scop?  Are they exactly as strong?  That's an unknown quantity.

There's no question that you'd be disregarding the RAW if you were to do what you suggest.  IMO, that's the wrong way to go.  When the book very clearly says something, you should follow that, because nobody can object to that.  If it's in the book, nobody's got an excuse to say you're not allowed to do it.  If it utterly disregards what's in the books, you're on much shakier ground.

The only ones to replicate (a) plant toxin(s) would be the hippie elves from the Amazon in my book. They are capable of photosynthesis, so it can be argued they are part plant, but they would probably generate curare rather than gamma scop.
