Are you looking to have a number of each type of runner or just hope peoples preferences will be different enough to start out that a nice range of types will be made?

At this point in time, to my knowledge you have free reign with what types  you want to be.  In the Beta, Magic types are restricted and neither are the others.  When the Beta period is over, all of the restrictions on numbers will be considered.  But until then, no.

Dreamer is correct. During beta, you can make what ever you want. No restrictions whatsoever.

It might be better to rephrase it with During Beta you can make whatever you want that the Book allows in Chargen.

I think just to screw with the minds of everyone who checks the +census, everyone should chargen a medic. Nothing else.
