THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

First off: Character GenerationNew Seattle: Shadows Evolved (AKA NS:SE) uses a web based Character Generator (AKA CharGen or CG). This CG is in pre-Beta working condition. This means it is not finished, but functional.
It will do the following:- Allow you to create a Player Character (AKA PC) object on the New Grid
- Allow you to build a Character Sheet (AKA +sheet)
- Allow you to enter Custom Knowskills.
- Allow you to add Specializations to Active Skills.
- Allow you to enter a Background (AKA BG)
- Allow you to add Notes to certain entries. (Spells, Qualities, Etc.)
- Allow you to add Accessories or Modifications (AKA Mods) to Firearms, Vehicles and some Weapons and other Gear.
- Allow you to create more than one +sheet for the same PC Object. (AKA Alts)
It will NOT do the following:- Make sure you spend Build Points (AKA BP) or Nuyen correctly.
- Make changes to your +sheet due to certain Qualities for you. (IE Uncouth VS Social Skills, Uneducated VS Technical Skils, Etc.)
- Keep you from modifying firearms/vehciles/weapons/etc incorrectly.
- Keep you from making a completely ridiculous +sheet.
- Make you a sandwich.
If you can not find something (Gear, Skills, Qualities, etc.), look again. Then look twice more. If you still can not find it, look again and then and
only then, post which
Book and Page number it falls under. Chances are it was overlooked during the data entry. We (Kujata, Hawk or myself) will look into it, and add it if we can.
We know that the Specializations for Active Skills are not complete lists. Please let us know what you would like to Specialize and we will add it. Maybe. Please keep in mind that we plan to open a more traditional game in the future, so outlandish requests will probably not make it to the list.
We also know that the Contacts list doesn't contain everything. As you will see, the list is already FREAKIN HUGE. Try to find something close to what you want. If you can't, please submit the Contact you have in mind with a
COMPLETE Background and Skill Set like is presented in the book(s). Then and only then will we consider adding it. The number after the Contact Name is its Connection Rating. You will set the Loyalty Rating.
If you can not link a Mod to a certain piece of Gear, please post the item(s) name(s) and the
Book and Page number(s) and we will add it if it is allowed/reasonable. There are a lot of Accessories and Modifications and a lot were missed in the data entry.
Please do not add Modifications to anything if you do not have Arsenal. There are special rules involved and you need to be aware of them.If there is something specific about certain entries, please add a Note to it. Entries like Spells and Qualities usually need additional information. (IE Incompetent Negative Quality needs a Note entry to show what skill the PC is incompetent in.) If you think an entry needs a Note and you can not add one, please let us know.
Kujata is working a few web-pages on our website to help you along with additional information. He will let you all know when they are ready.

Second: The GridA few things about the game world (AKA The Grid) that will be different from the old Grid.
- The grid does not have streets.
- There are no apartments or private spaces. Yet.
- There are no vehicle objects. Yet.
- There are no Item Objects. All Gear is 'virtual' meaning that it is stored as a list. Kujata will explain this system on the Web Site.
- There are Global rooms in which you will not see or hear other players. These rooms contain many exits that lead to different places on the Grid. They are not to be used for roleplay. Please venture to a IC location.
- Most IC Locations have an outside and an inside. (IE Outside the bar, and Inside the Bar). Few places have multiple rooms.
- There are other IC locations on the grid that are 'Wide Open'. These places were meant to be used for the Private Spaces and Public Spaces code. Use them if you must, but remember they are considered to be vast areas and not tiny rooms. (IE The Plastic Jungles)
- There is no Telephone System. Due to the complexities of SR4 commlinks, this code has been put off until such a time as we have to code it. Role-play should suffice until then.
There are a handful of PRP Rooms for your use though we encourage you to do things on the Grid as well. Currently only the Redmond Barrens has been built and there are
no plans for other areas until after we open the traditional game. You are free to run any area/country/planet in the PRP rooms.
Astral perception/projection is possible on the Grid. We are currently looking into to making the code more user friendly.
Currently AR and VR 'rooms' aren't finished. Please role-play them.
Also, if you feel that the room descriptions (AKA Descs) need correcting/changing/updating, you are S.O.L. We are not changing them. Again. For the tenth time. If you don't like the current desc, ignore it or get over it.

Third: The Sheet CodeThere is a lot of code that we are missing. Most of this has to do with +sheet changes after CG.
Kujata's help websites explain a lot of what you can do.
Here is what you can't do:You can not add or remove Adept Powers.You can not add or remove Cyberware.You can not add or remove Contacts.
So, before you approve your sheets (which will lock that sheet from being edited in CG) make sure all of the above is the way you want it. We will try to have the code in place as soon as possible.Remember: NS:SE is a work in progress. We thank you for your patience.
