Do not take the 'duck' tour, unless.... you've never and would thus like to ride around the city on a ww2 esque amphibious vehicle that goes from tourbus to boat and back to bus!

So...that is actually saying DO TAKE the "Duck Tour"?
Now, for me? I would say the monuments and historical sites should be seen...Also, is there not some sort of ghost tour of Boston?

Oh yeah, a ghost tour.  The perfect way to pay someone to spoonfeed you bullshit!  Yum yum!

I've been to Boston a lot.  I'd say that if you want to do the tourist thing, follow the lines that bring you from historical location to historical location (there are tons in Boston).  If you don't like touristy things than I'd say just walk around and take in the wonderful architecture, visit the Atlantic Ocean coast line, and freeze!  There's plenty of markety areas that are really pretty, have great food, and you can shop for stuff.  Take the 'T' and be amazed that its the oldest passenger train system in the U.S. , gets you everywhere practically, and costs jack.  Ummm, there was a really good pizza place there, but I forget the name and I believe its closed anyhow.

2 bucks a trip on the T isn't cheap!

The highlight of my trip was going to the bathroom at MIT.

Neither is $4 a gallon for petrol, plus whatever parking costs in Boston are now...
