You know, Cracked, and maybe it's just it's website, seems to have gotten much more sophisticated since I read it as a youth. There's a lot of political commentary and awareness going on in some of their features.

What about the corporate spies? They'll be everywhere! I can just imagine now that one out of every hundred people is just a corporate bunraku advertising puppet who's there to sell you crap and pretend to be real.

When someone in the local runner bar gets into a barfight and kills his assailant dead with an Aztech Serpentslayer 500, you have to wonder if he's really a bad-ass runner or just someone they planted there to get that gun some brand exposure.

Also, I can now totally imagine my Chameleonic Face to have once been (and still is for a day job) one of said corporate schills that pretends to be real people but is actually trying to make you buy crap.
