Err, sorry, tar and feathers are natural substances which don't exist anymore in 2070...  We could dump some BuzzBlitz! cola syrup on him though.  That stuff burns, and sticks to you.  But sometimes it gives you inhuman strength, so you need to be careful  Grin

I believe if our layout was more like the old grid then it would be a handy thing to have.  To be able to be physically at one location, but AR whats at another location.  Seeing though that we're going to have a single room typically representing many locations or most of the action in plot rooms I believe it would be unnecessary.  Personally I'd like it in on the off chance someone does need to use it, but for the most part it seems like it would be a waste of time.

What do you mean your hair is on fire?

To clarify:

The grid has over 28 Public IC rooms. Not to mention the number of rooms that are planned for after Beta.

Crypto already knows how I feel about the AR code. I think it will be a new way to RP the Non-Hacker/Mundane.

The thought of the coding seemingly required for a playerobj to be in two places at once makes my head hurt, speaking as a non-coder with a vague clue.

I don't think MUSH/MUX/MOO can do it, and I worry it might be tailchasing to try.

But if the coders want to try? Let em.Smiley

Something I had seen on WoD MU*s is the way Changelings see the world. I could see allowing a set up for 2 different descs: the normal desc, which is always seen, and a "AR Desc" which adds things. I have liked the idea of characters whos clothes are actually geared to make the most of AR, with patterns and such over them, or bits that show what is underneath in AR(using programmed scanning of the skin and AR overlays). I think that could work good.

Welcome to the desert of the real.

We've decided to create the reality level, but to keep it simple: we're not going to write code that will let you be in two places at one time right now. We could do it using puppets or something, but we decided we'd wait to see what kind of demand there'd be for it during beta before we got involved in that project.

Decision made, thread locked. Thank you for your input!
