By definition, to sprawl means to spread out in a straggling or disordered
fashion. Never was there a more adequate word for Redmond, an urban sprawl.
In it's youth, the city was a thriving center for commerce and technological
inovation. All that changed with the arrival of a computer virus in 2029. The
result of the chaos that ensued is evident in the crumbling at every corner,
Like the festering waste that inhabits it. Redmond is now home and refuge to
the downtrodden, the poor and the SINless.

While the districts population is diverse, the number of metahumans present
is low. Since the Night of Rage, metahumans in redmond have tended to shy
away from the breeders, banding together in self-defense.

Because of the proximity to Bellevue and the presence of government buildings,
'Touristville' the most orderly and well-developed area of the district. All
tourism is confined to this one section of the district. Anyone venturing out
into the rest of Redmond does so at their own risk. The lower class
neighborhood of touristville seems like heaven compared to the other areas
which have come to collectively be called 'The Barrens.'

The Crash Zone
Ruler: King Chrome
Racial Bias: None
After the spaceplane crash in 2059, the area once known as Monroe has been
affectionately dubbed The Crash Zone. A three kilometer radius of distruction
wiped out the entire town and killed thousands. Escaped prisoners claimed the
resulting wasteland as their own. Ruled by a heavily cybered human known only
as King Chrome, The Crash Zone is a haven for squatters and those that pay
respect to the king.

Kingsgate - Crusher 495
Manager: Janus Koskey
LTG: 11206 (62-6768)
Racial Bias: None. Any racial bias is frowned upon.
Racists are not tolorated here.
After the Night of Rage, a group of orks organized themselves and established
the Crusher 495, a resturant and bar on the western edge of Touristville. The
place is popular with people from Bellevue and Downtown, all looking for that
real 'Barrens' experience. The owners and the staff work hard to make the
Crusher 495 a place where anyone can gather, a sort of community hangout.
Having weathered a few racist attacks in the past, the Crusher 495 still stands
as a place where metahumanity can gather in harmony. Its such a grand example
of interracial cooperation that Humanis avoids it, not looking for any more
bad press.

This neutrality is a big draw for Johnsons that wish to do buisness in the
Barrens area, and the manager is known to set up a few meets between local
talent and Bellevue big-wigs.

The Plastic Jungles
Racial Bias: Humans
A wealthy agriculturist built the 20 massive greenhouse domes to prove that
life could grow on the contaminated soil of the barrens. The land yielded
amazing harvests of food, but most of it was too contaminated for consumption.
After the crash of '29, the agriculturist lost his fortune and the project was
abandoned. Because no one ventured into the area, squatters soon moved in.
Metahumans moved in and began cultivating the land underneath the giant
biodomes, scratching out a living as best they could. Those living there now
are paranoid of outsiders, especially humans.

The Rat's Nest
Racial Bias: None
The North Seattle Refuse Center, AKA the Rat's Nest, is home to a thousand or more squatters known as the trash-rats. An open-air garbage dump several kilometers wide, just north of the Snoqualmie River near the edge of Salish-Shidhe territory, the Rat's Nest is a junkman's paradise. The trash-rats have constructed ramshackle huts and tents on the sides of the great mountains of garbage and pick off a living by salvaging anything they can use or sale. The place is infested with rats, devil rats and Rat Shamans.

No light, but rather darkness visible
Serv'd only to discover sights of woe,
Regions of sorrow, doleful shades, where peace
And rest can never dwell, hope never comes
